Dr. Tevna Tayler, NMD, Medical Sciences Director
Tevna Tayler, ND, Medical Sciences Director and Instructor for the college, is a licensed Naturopathic Physician in Tucson, Arizona, in the southwest corner of the United States. She has a small private medical practice – Wildhorse Naturopathic Medicine – where she focuses on Homeopathy as a treatment modality.
Dr. Tayler obtained her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) in Tempe, Arizona, where she won a scholarship for academic excellence in the Medical Sciences. During medical school, Dr. Tayler taught human Anatomy and Physiology classes to students at Everest College in Mesa, Arizona and subsequently taught in the medical program at Tucson College, in Tucson, Arizona. Dr. Tayler has a long history of college teaching starting in 1985 in the Physics Department of the University of Florida. She has also taught at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, and Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Tayler has a special appreciation for the value of Medical Sciences education. Her experiences working in several hospital emergency departments over the last twenty years have demonstrated the value of a clear understanding of human biology in matters of life and death. Dr. Tayler feels that it is critical that all clinicians be able to effectively diagnose and understand patient health conditions, both to protect the patients in emergency situations and to give the patients the best possible care under all circumstances.
Dr. Tayler also works as a Primary Care Physician in Scottsdale, Arizona, has a BA in Psychology, with minors in English and Chemistry (Cum Laude) from the University of South Alabama, two children aged 10 and 14, and a lifelong love of Canada, where she hopes to live full-time one day, so she is exceptionally excited to be teaching in Canada.
