Homeopathy For Birth professionals

Part 1

Course Description

This course focuses on preparing the birth professional to use homeopathic medicine effectively during the peri-natal process. Covering topics such as, the application of fundamental principles of homeopathy, safety and efficacy of homeopathic medicine during pregnancy and childbirth, specific indications for the most commonly indicated homeopathic remedies during the peri-natal period.

Learning Outcomes

1. Communicate effectively about safety of homeopathic medicine.

2. Identifying factors important in the selection of the homeopathic remedy.

3. Knowledge of Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia.

4. Application and selection of correct homeopathic medicine.

5. Understand the principles of homeopath.

6. Determine appropriate posology and adjustment of homeopathic remedy to correlate with the different stages of the birth process.

7. Managing common ailments of pregnancy with homeopathy.

8. Identifying the scope of practice of the homeopathic practitioner.

Prior Learning Assessment

This course is intended for practicing clinical birth professional. For eligibility the candidate should approach the Program Coordinator for further information.

Part 2

Course Outline & Description

This course builds upon Part 1 Homeopathy for Birth Professionals by increasing the scope of remedies and by introducing the use of the homeopathic repertory for case solving. Topics Covered: history of midwives and homeopathy, use of the homeopathic repertory for case analysis, solving complex clinical cases, and increasing accuracy of homeopathic remedy selection.

Rationale

Further fine-tunes the skill and accuracy of the Birth Professional using homeopathic medicine as an integral part of her practice.

Learning Outcomes

1. Understand history of homeopathic medicine used in childbirth

2. Expand knowledge of relevant Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia

3. Demonstrate use of the Homeopathic Repertory

4. Identify cases where repertorization is needed

5. Increase competency and speed of identifying homeopathic remedy states

6. Understand the need for constitutional care

7. Manage postpartum complexities of the mother, non-thriving infant, surgical interventions and other factors of long term case management

8. Expansion of your remedy kit.

Prior Learning Assessment

This course is intended for practicing clinical birth professional, who has been in practice for a minimum of six months. Eligibility is dependent on successful completion of Part 1 of Homeopathy for Birth Professionals.
