Clinical Practicum

The clinical practicum section of the course is devoted to providing the student with intensive and relevant hands-on experience. In addition to the classroom study, students at WCHM will develop their skills as homeopaths in a practical clinic setting with the clinical requirements shown below. These requirements must be fulfilled concurrently with the academic program of study and prior to graduation.

Clinical observation 400 hours
Patient case-taking and analysis I 400 hours
Patient case-taking and analysis II 400 hours
Extra-clinical activities 600 hours

 

Extra-Clinical Activities

Students are required to devote 600 hours to extra-clinical activities, to ensure they develop a complete and well-rounded portfolio of experience prior to practicing as a licensed homeopath. To fulfill this obligation, students may elect to devote time to any combination of the following activities, up to the maximum indicated for each activity:

Volunteer outreach programme 150 hours
Walk-in duty Xerion Homoeopathie 200 hours
Seminars: in-house or in other locations 160 hours (1)
Triturations: in addition to those required 160 hours
Provings: in addition to those required 120 hours (2)
Public Lectures: Homeopathy Awareness 50 hours (3)
Homeopathic Association Activities 100 hours

Note 1 -- Student is responsible for fees and travel expenses for attending outside seminars.

Note 2 -- Student is responsible for fees; counts for 4 hours of write-up time plus 16 hours in class.

Note 3 -- Includes 8 hours of preparation time.
