Exemptions

Applicants with an MD, ND, or DO status who are currently in practice or have been in practice within five years of the date of application may be granted exemption from the science portion of the program.

Admissions

ABachelor’s Degree with a science component is recommended for applicants to the Western College of Homeopathic Medicine. For interested parties who do not have post-secondary science credit, our course in Natural Sciences for the Homeopath is designed to upgrade otherwise qualified applicants in chemistry, biology, and physics in preparation for the Medical Sciences portion of the program.

Applicants who are conditionally approved into the program will be asked to attend an interview. This is the final stage of the application process and allows us to determine if the applicant possesses suitable interpersonal skills to practice as a professional homeopath.

Applicants with an MD, ND, or DO status who are currently in practice or have been in practice within five years of the date of application may be granted exemption from the medical science portion of the program. Approved transcripts and association membership must be provided as proof of these qualifications. Others who have studied Anatomy & Physiology and other human sciences at the college level may apply for exemption from selected courses.

For those exempt from the medical science portion of this program, the Classical Homeopathy diploma program takes three years, provided the individual is able to complete the required clinic hours and independent project within that time. For all other applicants, it is a four-year program of study.
